Read below a statement from Kelantan UMNO Chief declaring that Zaid is a failed product produced by UMNO which indirectly indicate UMNO is not capable of generating a good politician.
It could be because of that Zaid have decided to turn his back from UMNO and be a PKR member which have a better platform in developing a better politician for the peoples of Malaysia.
Voters must give Zaid a chance to prove his decision is right and PR is a new hope for people of Hulu Selangor.

HULU SELANGOR: Kelantan Umno chief Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed today labelled Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate for the Hulu Selangor parliamentary by-election, as a reject who had failed to fulfil his responsibility as the Kota Baru member of parliament.
"When he was the MP (member of parliament) for Kota Baharu he failed the Barisan Nasional by not fulfilling his responsibility as an elected representative. We feel that he is not suitable to lead a constituency at all based on his work rate," the International Trade and Industry Minister told Bernama.
Speaking at the BN command centre at Bukit Sentosa here, Mustapa said Zaid's claim that he would champion the people's problems and solve issues did not hold water because when he had the opportunity to do this, he had failed.
The Hulu Selangor parliamentary by-election would see a straight fight between BN's P. Kamalanathan and Zaid.
Zaid, a former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, was once with the ruling coalition and had won the Kota Baru parliamentary seat in 2004. He was however dropped as a BN candidate in the 2008 general election.
"We feel that he is not capable of championing the issues brought up by the people of Selangor. He does not have credibility nor the capability to solve issues faced by the rakyat.

He said Kamalanathan, the BN candidate, was almost a local, hailing from Rawang, which was just a stone's throw away from Hulu Selangor and understood the people's problems since he was from the grassroots.
"Zaid failed in Kelantan. There have been many complaints about him during his tenure as an MP. He is a rejected product while our man is the best product for the people of Hulu Selangor," said the Minister. - BERNAMA
